As the campaign season in 2008 heats up, there will be lots of political activity all over the state. This map gives some indication of where the politically hot places in California are, by turnout. Areas with higher turnout are traditioanlly more engaged, and nothing is more engaging than a Presidential race. Here, turnout is higher along the coast (and more liberal regions). Eventually, however, expect movement to the suburbs - and away from the cities - to result in California potentially being in play for the GOP in 2-3 more cycles.
